Even in a wartime US concentration camp, there was romance–the theme of this week’s Topaz Stories.
“Frank and Miyoko” tells the story of Frank Kami’s high-school sweetheart and their long road to meeting again after the War.
In “Romance,” Grace Mori Saito Tom gives a realistic picture of what it was like for a romantic teen trying to maintain normalcy in camp.
Another long-distance relationship is the focus of Ruth Sasaki’s “Life Goes On,” the story of her mother and father’s courtship while her mother was incarcerated behind barbed wire and her dad served in the U.S. Army.
