Join us for two upcoming events about the Topaz Stories project:

“Topaz Stories and the WWII Incarceration of Japanese Americans”
San Francisco Main Library, 100 Larkin St., San Francisco (Latino Room)
Ruth Sasaki will give a brief overview of the incarceration, share anecdotes about the process of gathering stories and read a few stories with links to San Francisco families.

Topaz Stories: Preserving stories of the Japanese American incarceration
AZ Gallery, 1150 El Camino Real, Suite 254, Shops at Tanforan, San Bruno, CA.
Five Topaz Stories authors will share their stories: Ann Tamaki Dion, Jonathan Hirabayashi, Joseph Nishimura, Cynthia Kami, and Ruth Sasaki. In addition, Ruth will discuss how the stories were collected and what she looks for in a story. Questions and discussion with participants are welcome. This event is part of the exhibit and educational programming organized by the Sansei Granddaughters’ Journey to celebrate the opening of the Tanforan Memorial. The event is preceded by a gallery tour at noon. Click this link to register.
