Oct. 13, 2024: Lost and Found

All grown up! Below, Dan Hirano is pictured next to Ella’s sketch of his family’s barrack apartment, “Baby is Taking a Bath.” Dan, born in December 1942 in Topaz, is the baby in the washtub. Dan’s older brother, Bobby (shown at right), climbs over the gate in the sketch. Dan spoke about his family and some of their experiences during that period. He related that his father, James, named him “Daniel” because he was born ‘in the lion’s den.’
