When May Saito Takashima heard about the event, she knew she had to be there. She came to the program bearing a copy of her class photo from Topaz. She came to meet Ella’s granddaughter, as May recalled taking a drawing class from Ella in Topaz. She also got to meet Ella’s daughter, Valerie, who was born in Topaz.
