August 21, 2021: Seasons

Those who were very young in camp may sometimes have only fragments of memories. But many remember the seasons. In this week’s Topaz Stories, three such Topaz “youngsters” share their memories.

Army cots in recreated Topaz barrack; Golden Gate Bridge in fog; teenage girl ice skating on makeshift Topaz pond

In “Annie Remembers,” the summer heat is what most stands out in Annie Inouye’s memory.

Summers in Topaz make Grace Mori Saito Tom “Homesick” as she remembers the typical summer weather in her beloved San Francisco Bay Area.

In “Winter Sports,” Grace remembers ice skating in the desert.
