The Salt Lake City Nihonmatsuri Committee will be holding its 14th annual Nihonmatsuri Festival on April 29, 2023 from 10 am to 5 pm on “Japantown Street” (100 South between 200 West and 300 West). Admission is free.
We are thrilled that 16 panels from the Topaz Stories collection will be on display in the Buddhist Temple’s Multipurpose Room along with crafts, artwork, and more about Japanese American history in Utah. If you missed the exhibit at the Utah State Capitol last year, you have another chance to see some of the stories from the collection!
Many thanks to Kenzie Hirai and Sherrie Hayashi for reaching out to arrange the exhibit, the Salt Lake Nihonmatsuri Committee, and to Fletcher Booth of the Utah Division of Arts and Museums for making this possible.
