Whether they volunteered after the attack on Pearl Harbor, were recruited from U.S. concentration camps to fight in Europe, or ended up in Asia fighting the propaganda war, the Nisei soldiers in our stories all had one thing in common: they had family behind barbed wire in Topaz.
Join us on Thursday, November 7 (2-3:30 pm) as we share “Soldiers’ Stories” by Eugene Takei (read by Gene’s son, Kevin), Tracy Takayanagi Hui, and Ruth Sasaki in a salute to veterans.
What: “Soldiers’ Stories: Japanese American Soldiers in WWII.”
When: November 7, 2024, 2:00-3:30 pm
Where: J-Sei, 1285 66th St., Emeryville, CA.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held in person and online via Zoom. Register to get a Zoom link by the day before the event. In-person registration is also requested at the same link.
