We are happy to publish a new Topaz story: “The Honeymoon,” by Pat Shiono.
Yuri Murakami and Hank Shiono met in San Francisco before the War, visiting a mutual friend in a hospital.
Who could foresee that their courtship would be “relocated” to Minnesota, while separated from their families?
And then Yuri and Hank embarked on “The Honeymoon.” Did they go to Hawaii? Paris? Not hardly. Their destination: the two U.S. concentration camps where their families were incarcerated behind barbed wire.
